DVI to VGA dongle

I was looking at that and it looked like it was saying it has two dvi and comes with 2 converter dongles. Is there any quality loss? Since I am using CRT should I get one that comes straight VGA? The card I have now has one VGA and one digital kind. Should I go for that now or do they not make those anymore? Thanks!

A guy at a store tried to get me to by the more expensive one because "its the same kind ATI uses in their pruducts"

DVI connection by default has 1 VGA connection inside of it to allow backwards compatibility. The dongle simply routes the VGA signal to a VGA cable, nothing more. You cant do any better than that for a CRT pretty much.

I've been using a DVI-VGA connector for two years now on various cards.

One on ebay for $3.50 says for ATI cards. Would it work with Nvidia?

Yes its all the same. Provided that the video out port is a DVI-I and not a DVI-D.

I have never seen a graphics card with a DVI-D out but I have seen monitors with DVI-D in only.

Basically DVI-D has no analog portion and DVI-I does.

Anyway, if you are using this from a graphics card as you imply...don't worry, they are all the same and they will all work.
