Okay so I suspect that the component inputs on my monitor are faulty and rather than going through the hassle of an RMA, I would rather just pay $20 for an adapter that would connect right into my video card. I have to ask if this would work. The adapter in question is here..
DVI to Component Adapter If I were to buy this, would I simply plug my Xbox 360 into my graphics card and be able to play it through my computer?

EDIT: Ignore what I did below...didn't mean to attach code.

No, that's a DVI to component output, meaning you can connect your PC to your TV using component cables. Your best bet for the Xbox 360 would be getting the VGA cable and connecting it directly to your monitor.

Yeah, VGA cables go for like $40 IIRC. It'll also allow you upconvert and output everything to 1080p as well.
