DVI stopped working

My friend's monitor seems to have stopped supporting DVI a while ago. One morning it stopped working. Only VGA actually gives an image now. I've updated the video card driver but no results. The monitor was plugged into the DVI slot of another computer and it worked.

Is it the video card?
