DVI-D to DVI-I conundrum.

Alright, so my new LCD uses a DVI-D connection, and my video card only has a DVI-I input on it. I googled, and don't think there is any sort of an adapter to go from -D to -I, so what am I supposed to do to hook this thing up digitally rather than analogoly?

Use a DVI-I cable. It will work. DVI-I includes both DVI-D and DVI-A signals, it's a super-set.

Hmm, where can I get one of those? And should I get dual link or single link?

The LCD should come with one, but if it doesn't this is a really nice cable.

Monitor only cable with a dvi-d to dvi-d cable.

why can't you use that? Don't DVI-I ports take both kinds of cables?

have you tried just plugging it in instead of worrying about it? It's not like your going to damage anything unless your rough.

actually getting yourself a dvi-i cable will probably make it not work b/c you probably won't be able to plug it into the monitor b/c there are no holes for the extra analog pins.
the dvi-d connector is the EXACT same as the dvi-i except that it lacks the pins/holes for the analog. (I had a problem w/ this before, but you can remove the extra pins if you want to and then it works fine)

Basically you needed to just quit worrying about it, next time do a search b/c the first thing to come up on yahoo when searching for "dvi-d vs dvi-i" is a page from anandtech... http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1577&p=3
