Many of the cheaper sapphire cards don't have a true DVI-I output for the second display (DVI-I allows for both digital output, and analog with an adapter). Rather, they have a DVI-D output, which only can be used with a digital cable, but can not take an analog adapter. I have not seen either up close, so wouldn't know how to tell you how to check yours to see what kind it is. Sorry. :(

Since you guys all seem to have experience with these converters maybe someone here can help me out.

I'm considering getting an A-I-W 9700Pro, which as most of you know only has a DVI output. My problem is that I don't have much room behind my tower. My regular VGA cable barely fits (the cable has to bend just after the connector) so obviously there is no way in hell that a DVI-VGA adapter with a VGA cable connected to it is going to fit.

Does anyone know of any 90º DVI adapters? Or perhaps even a DVI-to-VGA adapter that has a short length of cable?

You can tell if a D to A converter will work by looking at the DVI connector. If the funny plus-shaped thing has 4 pins in the corners, the converter will work.
