Works like a charmyou could use DVDFab Decrypter to make a file rip that will not trip up DVD Shrink.

RipIt4Me - Uses DVDDecrypter and DVDShrink. I've yet to see a DVD that it can't rip that DVD Decrypter or DVDShrink had problems with.

Any new apps (free) to replace DVDshrink? I use AnyDVD in the background for decoding and then DVDshrink to remove menus, etc. Some recent Sony DVD's crash DVDShrink. I tried nero recode but its not as good as DVDshrink.

RipIt4Me in conjuction with DVD Decrypter and Fix vts.
Then, at least for me, it's WinAVI converter to change .avi to DVD.
Then DVD Shrink.
Then just prior to burning I usually defrag the folder containing the DVD files. This is probably unnecessary, but it seems to result in fewer bad burns & useless coaster disks.
Tried DVDFab Decrypter for awhile, didn't like it. Went back to RipIt4Me + Fix VTS.

RipIt4Me 1.70 no longer needs FixVTS installed, contains some changes that should result in less players balking at the removal of small cells, offers to switch back to full movie mode if an episodic disc is detected and the mode has been set to movie only and there are some other minor improvements and bugfixes.
That's really sad about RipIt4Me.RipIt4Me appears to be the latest software to fall victim to the entertainment industry's crackdown on our rights - the site went down an April 1st, and statements by the admin of Digital Digest seem to confirm that RipIt4Me is no more. So here's my plea to those who write software: even if you don't want to release your source code, please make sure that in case something happens there's a way that development can continue. I'll gladly offer to hold sources for safe keeping so that in case something happens the software can continue to live as open source.

I have another use for FixVTS not connected with RipIt4Me, so I still find it useful.
If someone has an .AVI file and converts it to DVD, the FixVTS can be run on the converted file before it is burned to DVD.
