DVDs rule when you are spending your Christmas vacation sick, lying in bed with nothing to do except to sleep. I just finished watching Where The Heart Is (chick flick I know) and Tortilla Soup. I usually don't watch these kind of movies but I was up for some contemporary drama, anything from my usual action taste in movies (eg The Matrix).

Anyways, I'm bored and my nose is clogged. What a way to spend Christmas Eve! :( At least a storm is suppose to come soon. It's usually not a good thing but I wouldn't mind seeing a White Christmas this year. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all ATFers :D

LOL, I think you mean of "Eat Drink Man Woman", IMDB

[ ed ] which is excellent BTW. And the tortilla folks were open about borrowing the idea.

I am so freaking sick, all I have done is watch movies, and even then that doesnt seem to keep my occupied!
Be happy that you can remain interested while you are sick, all I think about is what I could be doing if I were not sick, the dvds
just arent doing their job!

I also saw A Walk to Remember today. More reality-chick flicks. It's wierd that I wanted to see these movies today. The things that sickness can do to you and your mind boggles me.

That sucks man. I don't know if you're a Trek fan or not but looking at your name wants me to watch Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan now. "The Motion Picture" was showing earlier this afternoon on Cinemax but I didn't feel like boring myself for 3 hours. I'm a huge Trek fan but todays just not one of those days...ya know? ;)

Nope. Local public library has a huge collection of DVD movies that are available to rent for 5 days. Only god knows why people waste their money on renting from Blockbuster instead of renting the same movies for free at the town library. The ironic part is, the movies at my local library are in better condition than the ones at BB. The only drawback is, the DVD/VHS section of the library is small compared to Blockbuster. But they do have alot of recent movies...

PS: I think I just jinxed myself. Now the library's DVD section is gonna be hugely popular. LOL

I just canceled Cinemax because they never had anything on that I liked!
This is what I get for doing that!

Hehehhe yeah Cinemax is like the pooptube for sub-par movies. Occasionally, Cinemax will have a couple good movies here and there. But alot of the good movies goes to Cinemax's big brother HBO. Not to mention, the good movies on Cinemax are also shown on HBO.

I personally watch Starz alot. Starz shows alot of good movies while it dumps sub-par and old (good and bad) movies to its little brothers Encore, Starz 2, etc.

Do you know if Showtime and its stations are having a free preview week?
I have had Showtime for about 2 weeks now and I am beggining to wonder...not that I am
complaining, free movie stations is a good thing.

Now that question I can't answer because I don't get the channel. :(

Usually, if a station has a free preview going, there would be a number shown at the bottom of the screen between and during movies. There would probably be numerous ads between the movies trying to pursuade you to call your cable company. This is the case with Starz's free preview weeks. The good thing about the preview weeks is they usually show top rated movies but the bad thing is all the ads and stuff. It's a win lose situation that we have no control over. :)

There are no numbers or ads, and the movies have been horrible or ones I have never heard of.
I hope that is not what they have on all the time or they wont be in business for long.

Upon going to their website, I am greeted by 4 images of: HeartBreakers, Rat Race, Soulfood and Pre-order for Queer as Folk DVD set.

I heard Soulfood is actually a pretty decent sitcom. Same goes for QAF. But HeartBreakers was a sub-par movie and Rat Race wasn't too great either. I guess they live off of their weekly series.

Not to mention, Mandy Moore and Shane West weren't that bad actress/actor (respectively) considering they didn't really have the acting experience under their belts. Safe to say, I was shocked that it ended up becoming a pretty good movie.

That sickness must be messing with your head, at least your choice of movies. I sure hope you get better soon. :)

You might enjoy a great movie made back in the early to mid 90's. It's called Pure Country and features the acting and music of George Straight. My heart always melts and my eye's well up with tears every time I see the part at the end where he serenades his new sweatheart on stage played by Isabel Glasser. I've nearly worn out this dvd.
