DVD's for archive?

We have a little over 3 gb of wedding pictures, we want to make a good archive disc to keep, and one to give to each of our parents. Couldn't find any in tech store, archival cdr's but no dvd's.

Thx

DVD are fine for archival but don't make one dvd to be the only copy. If it is important make a couple copies for each 'set' of pictures you want to archive. DVD+R do fail after so many years but not always in the same spot on every dvd. So by having multiple copies of the same dvd the risk of losing everything you archived is very very small.

I believe they're all rated with nearly the same shelf life (~100 years), just make multiple backups and keep them in different locations.
