I would go DVD cause this is the new age! I got an ASUS 8X DVD-Rom drive and it has not failed me EVER (well not since I got it which was 5 months ago) My one was from Hong Kong which measn it is chipped so I can watch any region DVD I want. :)

just go get a dvd drive. it is the future and you can get a nice toshiba 12x [or 8x...forgot] for about 80 bucks. i have the pioneer 16x and i love it, you can get it for 100 bucks. if you don't watch dvds or rip them, then i guess save yourself a few bucks.

Definitly DVD, I just built a system and put a Toshiba 12x in it. I don't have a DVD player so I got a ATI AIW card which has video out so I can use it to watch TV and DVD's.

If you already have a set-top DVD player, you probably won't need the DVD-rom drive. I never use mine.

Its possible for future games to be put on DVD discs, so I'd be aware of this.

I have already seen a few DVD software titles appearing in stores, and also some DVD movies have PC dvd-rom features.

Heh, I have too. I couldn't remember the names of any of them so I said "future" so I wouldn't sound stupid.:)
