DVDROM Not Detected in Windows

I recently went through some troubleshooting to resolve a BAD_POOL_Header error. The thread can be found here

After successfully resolving the BAD_POOL_HEADER error, my DVD drive is no longer being detected in Windows. This may have been a result of renaming unverified drivers, but these drivers are no longer showing in the System32/Drivers folder. I did reinstall the VIA chipset drivers, but that didn't resolve the issue.

I can see the DVD Drive in the BIOS and on the boot menu. I have an older IDE CDR/W drive that is being detected without issue. The DVD ROM is a SATA drive. I've tried switching the primary optical drive from the CDR/W to the DVD ROM in Bios without effect.

This is the type of DVD Drive that I have:

LITE-ON Black 16X DVD-ROM 52X CD-R 32X CD-RW 52X CD-ROM SATA Combo - OEM

Model
Brand LITE-ON
Type Combo Drive
Model DH-52C2S-04

I haven't been able to find any drivers for this online.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Update:
I went into the Device Manager and tried to scan for new devices, but there weren't any found.

I unplugged the power and SATA cables then booted into Windows, shutdown and hooked everything up again and booted back into Windows - Still not detected.

I restored the registry from before I worked on the BSOD error. This returned the LowerFilter entry in the registry as per Microsoft KB 314060. I also tried using the other SATA slot on my mobo. I found someone online that mentioned that installing Daemon tools helped Windows to recognize his missing drive, but this didn't help me. I did find the drive listed in the Device Manager as a hidden drive and I tried to use Update Drivers, but no drivers were detected for it. I then uninstalled and it is now gone completely from Device Manager, but Windows still isn't seeing it.

Solved.

It turns out that I needed to enable and update a SATA Raid device in the Device Manager under "SCSI and RAID Controllers". After enabling and updating this device I restarted and I am able to see and use my DVD drive. The SATA Raid device is no longer present.

For anyone searching this topic later, I'm using an Asrock 775 Dual-VSTA Mobo utilizing a VIA chipset on Windows XP SP3. Hope this comes in handy to someone else in the future.
