DVD writers...

hey, I brought a DVD writer this week, Ive written 8 DVDs, 4 have failed -_-

its a Samsung TS-H55 writemaster

It gets to around 60-80% then stops responding, it stops writing also, however I think it may be accessing the HDD and DVD, Im am using Datawrite 8x 4.7gig DVD-Rs...

Im really hopeing this is a case of shite DVD'Rs! as RMA replacements are so annoying, also as it does work (literally half the time) Who knows they may not even take it back.....


Can anyone shed light on this?

What burning program are you using, and is it up to date?

Im using the software included with the DVD writer, i think it is called Pinacle or something "Instant CD+DVD"......
its got alot of features so i assumed it was a decent piece of software, perhapse I should download a freeware package thats better, and see how that goes

I would download the demo of Nero Ultra and give that a shot.. it has a lot of DVD writing software.

and the trail version of NERO is a full version,to me that shows confidence in your product.i have NERO full lic software and have no probs.
