Ive got a dell inspiron notebook with video cables and I want to run my computer into my TV set so I can watch DVDs on the big screen. Is there a way I can do this? I tried connecting it but nothing happened, and I tried the function 5 thing too to no avail. Please help 🙁
 
Hey, u have to go into ur display properties, and enable ur TV out, which is under advanced. Once u enable ur TV disaply, it'll work. I dont remember where it is exactly, but it's under advanced in ur disaply properties after cliking on setting.
 
Yup, if you connect your cables, then go into your display properties, you'll see a choice of three displays. A CRT, your laptop display, and a TV. When you connect the cable, you will have the option to turn on that device output. OR, you can turn off your laptop, powerup with the cable you want hooked up to your TV and it will default to use that output and not your laptop screen. Doing the later will solve AVI playback issues as well.
