I keep hearing about being able to copy a DVD movie to CDR's and being able to play the CDR's in a regular console DVD player. How is this done? What software/hardware is required? Can a regular cdr drive do this with a dvd rom or do you need something special???
tomshardware has published a guide on it...............its basically converting MPEG2 to MPEG4 (AKA DivX). But the problem is that most standalone DVD players will not decode MPEG4..........so you have to encode it into MPEG1 i think it is.........and cut the resolution down to 320x440 and then BURN it as a VCD...............most standalone DVD players should be able to play it.
