DVD storage

how do i store as many video files on a dvd as possible? when i create a vcd i can burn the avi files straight away without conversion but when i try to do the same with a dvd Nero Express will not burn the files as they are not dvd format. is there any way to burn them onto a dvd disc without converting them as i can store a lot more this way?

If you burn the disc as a data disc, it will not be playable in a DVD player. Just an FYI. There are DVD players that can play DIVX.

maybe, but you probably will not find a player like that without some trouble. and it would probably be a clunky interface...just burn the files as data, or make a dvd-video disk if you want to view them with the player.

i was going to make a dvd-video disk but then that means i can only store about 6 files that were avi size 150mb as the conversion makes them huge. i managed to convert them as vcd that were burnable on dvd but the quality was so bad that the subtitles and the screen shook. so does anyone know a way to convert 150mb files to dvd format so they are still small e.g. about 300mb ?

Untrue.

Depends if searching for a PAL based player, or NTSC based.

This particular model supports both formats, but is designed for output to NTSC (and converts PAL to NTSC).
