I have a copy of both and in the process of checking them out and was wondering what other peoples experiences of them both are. I know Clone dvd needs like anydvd to get past the encription but they both seem to rip at the same speed with like the same quality.
But Clone DVD seems to alow you to get rid of like the extras to increse image quality.
DVD Srink sa far as I can see needs another piece of software to do this.

One more question how can I output from a PC/Laptop running to the TV.
All I get is a black screen when the Movie is started. Like I can see the desktop but once the movie starts the screen goes black on the tv.
Is this like the macrovission protection or something else.
Thanks

I haven't used CloneDVD, but DVD Shrink is excellent (and free). I use the Image Recorder to backup my DVDs to an image file, and then use DVD Decrypter to burn the image file to a disc.

I would think the compression would be about the same on both, since you are backing up to a 4.7gb disc, regardless of the program you use.

DVD Shrink has been good to me so far. I just recently got CloneDVD and will try it soon. If I don't forget, I will let ya know how it goes. :)
