DVD-RW appearing issue

Dell E4310 DVD/RW drive only appears after I close the laptop lid and it reappears. Whenever I reboot or shutdown and turn the computer on, the drive does not show.

I can repeat this and it only comes back after I close the lid and wake the computer from sleep.

Has anyone run into this before.


Running on Windows 7 32bit SP1.
 
I ran this once before, it doesn't even see the drive to attempt any repair. But again, if I press the power button or close the lid and and log back into the laptop, the drive shows up and works. Just bizarre.
