DVD rom troubles

Hi Guys/Girls

I seem to be having trouble with my DVD-Rom drive, it will play cd's as per normal but for some reason it doesn't like dvd's anymore, the dvd rom will recognize that there is a dvd in there & even with battlefield 2142 it will let me install the game but come time to play it or run a dvd it comes up with the error "please insert correct dvd, press ok and restart application"

If anyone has a fix for this it would be greatly appreciated, the actual dvd rom drive is only 2mths old and did play dvd's no problem for awhile it is an LG "GSA H42N"

im running the IDE cable, it has me buggered i have no idea what is causing it & i dont have a spare dvd rom to try hmmm shrug ??
 
Hmm, maybe there's some dirt on the lens? Try blowing at a slight angle into the drive with some compressed air.
