DVD-Rom & Spray Paint...

Hmmm, well I spray apinted my white dvd-rom to match my black case, and it worked fine, except that I have to push the button quite hard for the drive to open. How can I just make it easier to open? I have a NEC DV-5700A that came with my Dell if that helps.

Sand around the edges of the face plate. The paint made it thicker. If it's sticking

Either sand the perimeter of the hole where the push button protrudes or sand down the button itself.

And consider using vinyl dye for painting other plastic pieces.

What type of paint/dye is considered best for this anyways?

Dude, I REALLY hope you completely took apart the face plate before painting. Did you take out the button before you spray painted it?
