Don't get a Pioneer, or a Samsung. I just had trouble with a Samsung DVD-ROM and I heard bad things about Pioneer.

Here's a good Lite-On one:

Hey Cruz, the ATForums don't go for shotgun posting. One topic, one thread, one secction. Thanks...
My reply to your question is in your OTHER IDENTICAL THREAD.

My apologies...

While I thought that this post belonged in peripherals...
My search turned up more hits in General hdwre...
Hence the cross post...

Won't happen again...

First let me say that I have no less than 5 LG Drives & Love them all...
I find this link extremely interesting...especially the date of; 11-15-04...
The introduction of the GDR-8163B (With +R & +RW Compatability) marks a departure from all previous LG drives I know of...and is news to me (& apparrently the folks at LG's site as well)...Thanks for the link.

My statement was based on the specs of the;
DRD-8160B & GCC-4120B (Which I have running now),
and the specs of the GDR-8162B, which is listed as the current DVD-ROM on LG's site.

I will attempt to link (hit 'view full specs')... Please bear with me as I am not familiar with this site's tools.

Now if I can just find one for sale (Don't see it listed at the link-Micro Tech. but will give them a call)...Thanks again,
D
