I have a pioneer Dvd106s slot load rom. It plays games and CD's fine but I can't watch DVD's. What am I missing here? Is there a program I need to download? Thanks

Aha, it was an oem puppy so thats my problem. Drummin boy, do you reccomend one of those over the other? Thanks for the help...

You might try a Google search to possibly find a freeware program, or go to ZDNet.com/downloads and see if they have WinDVD and PowerDVD shareware that you can try out and make your own decision.

Theres a decent DVD program that comes pre-loaded on some dvd's called PCFriendlyDVD. You can download it for FREE Here . Should work out good for you

Thanks puppy I loaded that win dvd 3.0 and it works great, I got a 45 day trial with it so I'll probably check out that PCfriendly drummin boy suggested after that,
much obliged!!!!

Depending on the video card you have, it might have shipped with some DVD playing software. I got one with my ATI Radeon 64MB VIVO. I'm using PowerDVD right now, and it's been great. 🙂

No problem. Also, I didn't think of it, but Ojai is right. Many video cards come with some sort of DVD software. You might want to check your card's CD.

Well I feel like quite the fool....I have a geforce 3 Ti-500 with power dvd on the installation disk......as the say in RTCW mp...oooooops. Thanks

Sometimes the most obvious answer is the most elusive. Glad to hear it. Now you don't have to spend any $ and you can go out and rent some DVD's.
