DVD-ROM problem

My Lite-On LTD163 DVD-ROM is giving me trouble. It does not want to consistenly spin up. I tried running a cleaning disk through it and at first that seemed to fix the issue but after a few days, it stopped spinning up again. Blowing into the open housing worked briefly, too, as well as laying the computer over on it's side. What happens is I can see and hear the drive cycling trying to bring the disk up to speed but after it tries twice it just shuts down. Any thoughts? The drive is two years old and out of warranty. As always, thanks in advance for any replies.

Outside of the Lens being dirty, then it probably needs realigned which most likely will cost more then purchasing a new one.

Yeah, DVDROM's are about $30 online these days. Shipping to the factory would probably run $9-12 alone. I wouldn't bother getting it fixed.
