My MSI 16x DVD-ROM does not function correctly. First, it didn't recognize anything I inserted. Then I proceeded to flash it to the 1.16 version firmware, which enabled it to read DVD's and some CD's, but very few. It was more hit-or-miss. Then, when I reformatted my rig after my RMA's came in from newegg, it didn't work at all. So I got the latest firmware from MSI's site, version 1.50. Now only DVD's work. All other discs refuse to function. This is troubling to me, since I'd like to use it when my 52x Liteon CDRW is in use. I've tried it as master and slave on both cables with no luck. Should I consider sending this back to newegg as well and getting it replaced? Or can someone else point me to a more viable firmware solution? Thanks in advance.
