DVD rom from Dell 50.95

$61 shipped from newegg for same drive. I actually have this drive in the black flavor, it acts kinda wierd compared to the last dvd drives I've had (stange spin up sounds)

Great drive.. Get it..
neoseeker and cdrinfo rate it great and I love it also (bought it from a previous dell deal)..

better to buy this through Dell Small Business, 15% off, free shipping, but you have to pay tax...came out to $46 shipped for me link

ordered it last week- just over $46 shipped and tax. 15% coupon small business and $6.00 -$6.00 shipping.

Great drive. This thing rips DVD's 4 times faster than my 16x Toshiba, and DAE speeds are in the 40x's.

I have a dell xps PII w/ 350 mhz 128ram. Would I be able to use a dvd drive on my computer? and if so, how would I set it up, as I currently have a cdrw as a secondary master and cd rom as a primary slave. Thanks

Thanks for the heads up. Just picked up the drive. Had been waiting for a reasonable deal.

P.S. You'll need to drop one of the CDs or take the performance hit by placing the DVD as slave on your primary IDE. Unless, of course you have a ATA66/100 Promise IDE controller add-in card or one of the Motherboards with more than 2 IDE controllers (like the BE6-II)
