DVD-ROM drive won't read DVD-R media

I burned some data using NERO 5.5.7.8 and then tried to put it into a DVD-ROM drive. I burned it as an ISO9660 DVD, Model 1. I can read the disc in the DVD-R drive but not in my DVD-ROM drive. Any ideas on how I should burn data discs so that my ROM drive can read them?
