I have ripped a DVD using dvd decrypter (found on this site) and everything went fine in terms of ripping, but when I play the video, the audio is not present. I ripped the audio separatly using DVD audio extracter (same package as DVD decrypter) but I don't know where the extracted files are. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Generally, if I want to work on a DVD (to copy or convert), I'll first rip it as an ISO using DVD Decrypter. With the former, I'll follow up with DVD Shrink, latter use Fair Use Wizard. I believe VLC can play an iso image.

Umm... I dont know what you did or why you used a separate program to to rip the audio out....

Explain what you are trying to do. Also, I dont know of any program bundled with dvd decrypter that ripps the audio out... So that is kind of odd... You sure thats the real dvd decrypter?

I mean duh, you ripped the dvd and put audio somewhere else. Obviously when you play the vob files back now, there is no audio.

lol. If decrypter is illegal to download and use, so is dvdfab decrypter and dvdshrink if you wanna start that.

Dvdfab decrypter is even worse than dvd decrypter because it removes the newer protections like Sony Accros, which dvd decrypter does not... So if you are gonna say that, the newer DVDfab has to be worse since it breaks the newer protections, unlike decrypter. DVDfab does alot of stuff that decrypter never did bud.

alright, there are no audio files in the folder with the vob files, so I don't think it got ripped along with it. I'll try to redo it and pay more attention to the ripping settings, see if there is a different folder for the audio.

Youre doing something wrong bro, or thinking something incorrectly. I dont know why youre thinking of having to do something special with the audio. You DONT.

You just either ripp in FILE mode or in ISO mode. If you ripp in ISO mode, then you just mount the ISO and can play the dvd. In file mode, you just ripp all the files to a FOLDER, then you can play it by loading the main ifo in DVD software player.

Ripping the audio out, even if you did that, it is NOT going to play when you play the vob files. The AUDIO is inside the vob files, compiled with the video. THe only reason to be ripping out audio, is if you are going to be downsampling the video and recompiling it back later. IE: using CCE method or something similar.

There should NOT be any audio folder with audio in it or anything like that.

*NOTE*: There is a AUDIO_TS folder on the DVD sometimes, but there should NEVER be anything in the folder if thats what is throwing you off. Burning a dvd you should always have a VIDEO_TS folder and AUDIO_TS folder, but there should never be anything in the AUDIO_TS folder.

No I said to load the dvd to view in like powerdvd if you ripped in file mode, you just load the main .IFO not iso. IFO files are the data/information/structure files for dvds.

On topic...
I don't have an audio_ts folder, perhaps that's the problem? I'll retry the ripping process...
