DVD rant

A while back I bought chobits (an anime for those who dont know) off of Ebay. When received i examined the discs and found them in perfect condition (I bought them from an Ebay store from a company who sells the discs new). I then ran scandisc on all three of them with Nero and they were 100% fine. I proceeded to watch the movie and also ripped a few parts onto the computer. I scanned them again and they were still 100% perfect. So I put them back in their box and store them (no light getting to them). Well in 2 months I kinda got the urge to watch some of it so I pull out disc 1 and find theres parts in 2 episodes it cant read. I got my computer and put it on scandisc and it found 4 bad sectors and one damaged sector. This irritates me so much, Now I have to go download the dam things! And I have a daily cap of 170MB a day and torrents only get about 2KB/s because of my modems built in NAT. I know I should have backed up but i simply dotn have the money to go and buy a new HD. Now Ive lost 2 episodes until i can find a way to get them 🙁.

Cliffs:
bought perfectly brand new DVD's
watched twice, ripped once and scandisced three times
stored for two months in no light conditions
DVD 1 now has bad sectors
Im fvcked!

cant. now warranty and its been about 3 months now. As for reripping, it cant get past the bad sectors. If I could do that, I wouldn't have a problem as id just save it to my HD.

I meant call Pioneer's US distributor and ask for a replacement disc. Offer to send back the original if they need verification. Hopefully they will do it for free, or for a small processing fee.

BTW, I bought the HK knockoffs, had them for over a year, and they still worked the last time I looked at it. ~3 months ago. I guess sometimes discs go bad.

I must stand corrected. They are the knockoffs 😛

hahahahaha, then tough sh*t I guess. Could always post to some place like craigslist to copy someone's for like $5.

lol. thx for the words of encouragement....... suprised you were the only one who showed up 😛. People must not know what a chobits is 🙂.
