"In addition, similar to a hard drive, it allows full random read/write access."

Dpes that mean I can drag and drop onto the disc like Mt. Rainier? Or does that just mean it's easier to use software to continue a burning session?

Drag and drop, at least with FAT32 formatted DVD-RAM discs under Win XP. UDF is read only unless you install extra drivers. (With my DVD-RAM I have read/write drag and drop for FAT32, UDF 1.5, and UDF 2.0 under Windows XP.)

Mt. Rainier tries to do the same thing with CD-RW (and DVD+RW in the future), but right now it's not integrated into the OS.
