hey guys, i know this must've been covered a million times, but i wasn't able to find much info.

i was wondering if you guys can recommend the following to me:
Which dvd-r drives to get?
Which dvd-r drives to stay away from?
What specs should I look for in a dvd-r drive?
I've heard there's 4 types of dvd-r media (dvd-r, dvd-rw, dvd-r+ and etc. - dunno what they really are). Which type is the most compatible with dvd-rom drives/players?
I've got some home made movies that I want make into a dvd (i've already gotten it digitized through a video capture card) What software should I use so I can create dvds that I can watch on any regular dvd player?

Thanks.

1: Pioneer A04
2: DVD-R
3: Stay away from DVD-RAM if you want to play on a stand-alone DVD Player....wont work at all!
4: Software is a matter of preference, theres tons out there

Hope this helps you 🙂
