Came across this in a email, Buy DVD-R is having a promotion on all dvd media, 5% off the price and free shipping too. They sell universal brand media, which is rated very high. Seems hot to me if you compare this to princo and optodisc junk, this is the good stuff 🙂

Yikes! These prices, even with the 5% off, are horrible. Better off to buy the DVD+R 50 pack at Best Buy for $80 - that's $1.60 per disc - where this is $2.47 before the paltry 5%...

This would be a great deal if you could buy them onesey-twosey, as first appears. But you can only get them in Qty 25 or more.

CrazedRacerGuy, the link is for DVD-R media, +R is a ripoff all over 🙂

ConnCarl, if you want 1 disc, your prob better off getting it at bestbuy, every retailer sells it in bulk from what i have seen unless you buy there sampler

ivol07, the link to the media you posted is princo and its not certified, thats why its 69 cents a piece. i wouldnt put my data on junk media, once its deleted off the hd, thats it.

to each his own 🙁

Always works for me. I haven't had one coaster yet. But I wouldn't put super sensitive information on DVD-R anyway. I'm to prone to lose things.

I picked up a spindle of 50 DVD-Rs for $49.99 from PC Club on Wednesday. They are purple/silver, but the data side is a lot more silver than purple (at least when compared to my older discs). Dunno if they are Ritek or some other brand. My Pioneer DVR-105 will only burn them at 1X (I have not tried a burn, that is just what Nero says it supports). I also haven't loaded the new DVR-105 1.21 firmware yet ... maybe it'll bump up to 2X?

How does one tell who manufactured the DVD-R blanks?
