my dvd-r drive was working, then one day i turn it on and it's recognized as a "standard cd-rom drive" despite the name showing up as "pioneer dvd-rw dvr-105"

help!

it doesn't do anything now. when i put in a cd/dvd it says "drive is not accesible". i plugged in a old cd-rom to the same exact cable and it reads a cd fine, so it's not the cabling.

i updated the aspi layer. i reinstalled windows. still nothing.

i say dont use win98se 🙂 If you spent the money on a dvd burner, please dont use win98se 🙁
