DVD-R Doesn't Fit

I just recently baught a Benq DVD-R and when I went to put it in I couldn't screw it and secure it in.

My case is a ANTEC 1000AMG Metallic Grey, File Server Case, CLEAR SIDE PANEL.

I'd thaught all devices should fit in any cases.

It should fit. The only problem I've ever seen with fitting an optical drive is sometimes the standard length drives run into components on the mb in small cases. Anyway, are you saying the screwholes don't line up or what?

The Antec you've got uses plastic drive rails that screw to the sides of the drive. Here's a page with some photos that may help illustrate rails: middle of this page Your case's spare rails should be in plastic holders that are on the floor of your case's interior.

Duct Tape !
Well, that or some other things:
Try to see if other (lower or higher) bays have more space in depth, try em all.
An external casing (most likely with USB or Firewire connection) but this is not all that troublefree with writers.

Yeah, if you're not using the rails (white and sitting in the bottom of the case) that's probably your problem.

I've had a couple cases that were a tiny bit warped and the drives didn't want to go in with the driverails though. (2 out of ~8) If that happens just jam them in 😉
