If you're in the US you wont be printing with the Pixma line....well there is a janky workaround but not worth it IMO.

I've got a epson R320 and think that it prints sweet on DVD's...it really does look good. Be ready to spend som $ on ink though as it goes through it pretty quick.

I'd actually rather have a the canon, but no printing on CD/DVD's for the US :(

on average, how many dvds do you print before you have to purchase more ink?

Yup...I use it for other stuff too so no idea on strictly DVD printing ink consumption.

What is this thread about? So you want to print on DVD/CDs? Labels are not an option?

Are we talking thermal, or inkjet?

Inccorrect. You can find the PIXMA CD print try on ebay for $20.. You download the 2 reg fixes found on Steves Digi Cams forums and youre off. Ive been doing this for over a month. Only an idiot would waste their money on a Epson R that not only will bankrupt you in ink costs, but clog itself.

I own the R200. I've printed over 150 DVD's and the black ink is just about to run out any day now. I don't do any other printing besides DVD's.

Just FYI, ABC Ink's had a deal the other day for 2 complete inks sets (cyan, light cyan, magenta, light magenta, yellow, black). Even without the deal, their prices are good.

I have the R-200 myself. It does an excellent job with printing on DVD's.

Epson Inks can be expensive, but, I've had great luck with 3rd party inks from Supermediastore.com. Less than $20 to replace the all the ink. I've been getting great results on both DVD's and Photo paper with these inks.
