DVD player issues

I bought a used (but like new) Plextor DVD player off of the forum a few months ago and it worked great when I first got it. Then after a few weeks it stopped working correctly. I then didn't touch it for about...4 months and just recently tried using it again. Anyways, when I load a CD or DVD into the drive it sits there and tries to read it with no luck. It will spin and spin to no avail. Double click on the drive in Windows Explorer and it said to insert a disk.

Any ideas?

Check device manager.
Re-install driver, and then program again, if that doesn't work.
Next, check connections and lastly replace.

Don't forget to update the firmware, but by all accounts, the drive is probably dead/on it's last leg. I wouldn't test drive it with any CD/DVD you love. The POS I had to RMA stopped reading things it did for weeks suddenly. Then after a firmware update, away we go, then it starts making grinding noises....on my favourite DVDs.

Thing is that this is the 2nd DVD drive in a row I've had that's done this (in 2 different systems). Not sure why this is my luck!

Don't wanna invest in another!
