DVD player huntin', who's an expert?

OK, here's the situation. My dad has been looking at DVD Audio/Video players. He wants one that reads Audio and Video DVDs, CD-Rs, and holds more than one disk. Now the best one for the price he has found is a JVC which costs $299. My dad has agreed that if I can get a similar player like it at $50 dollars or cheaper, he'd use the difference to buy me a Geforce MX or Radeon SDR. Anyone know where I can get these things cheap or maybe cheap models? Thanks in advance, AMDJ.

I got the Apex 703 from circuit city for $229 and it holds 3 DVDs play audio, vcd and mp3s.

Pioneer DVC-503. I've got it, and I also have the 1-disc version of the same player...I bought it at 800.com for $180, it was discounted a bunch, 20% off using MSN, etc...it's still a pretty good price at 800.com without the coupons. Check it out:

DVDs (5 disc changer)
VCDs
CDRs (VCD CDRs and Audio CDRs)

Plus the picture quality is exponentially better than a JVC.

Whoa there. You guys say Audio CDs. I know DVD players can read those, I need one which play DVD Audio. Also, any good Devon receivers at around $300 are in interest here.
