DVD Player $69.96 @ compusa No Rebate

The back page of this weeks comp usa ad has a dvd palter for 69.95. Models vary by store, but its supposed to handle DVD, VCD, CD, MP#, & CDRW. I'll update if I find more details, the comp usa website is down right now.

Looks like they are offering the Apex 3200, Apex 1500 or Delta 1000

For everyone that picked up one of the Apex 3201 players at CrapUSA 2 weeks ago, bring in your receipt for a $10 price adjustment. The ad has 3 sku numbers listed and the 3201 is one of them at $69.99. This makes the final price $39.99 after rebate!!!

The comp USA by me has the Apex 1500 & the LASONIC DELTA-1000

Which one is better? Which is easier to hack?

Thanks

My dad has the Apex 1500 and upgrading to multi-region/no macrovision was a simple CD update. Works great.

question about price match. Are they going to actually credit back your $10 only or they will do a return and rebuy? I think that if they do return and rebuy, then the rebate center can actually find out that particular order you submit with your rebate is refunded and then refuse to validate the rebate.

Anyone has answer for this? thanks

I have the Apex AD-1200. Remote is too small and buttons are too similar. Other than that, great unit for the price. If you can find the AD-1500 in stock, do it. It has the advantage of turning off regions and M@croVision (1200 does not).

My 2 cents.

is this possible ? any one tried this yet ?

I got the APEX 3201 for 79.99 (minus $30 MIR = $49.99 final cost). making it region and macrovision free was simple. Used the remote , punched few numbers and done.
Thanks chumbucket666 for getting me another $10 back.

I think that you only have 14 days to get the price adjustment, by the way. When I brought up the receipt for the price adjustment, they told me that it was easier to go grab something for $10.00 instead of filling out the paperwork for a refund ( I also didn't want to jeopardize the rebate!). I went and grabbed one of the 208 CD wallets that was on sale and it had a $5.00 rebate on the box! Sweet deal ! The Apex player has some glitches and whatnot, but for $39.99 after rebate it's a great deal. Has anyone tried a PAL disc in it? Do I need a PAL TV to view PAL discs? There's some great titles available in other regions and PAL format.
