DVD playback

I own a voodoo3 2000 AGP card and have just purchased a dvd drive, the creative dxr2. (2x20x i think), well the playback sucks with powerdvd, if i remember correctly 3dfx mailed out cds with a program that took advantage of the Vodoo3's hardware dvd decoding abilities. Does anyone have this cd and would be willing to make a copy for a nominal fee? Or does anyone know where I could pick up this program?

Just a guess, but I think it was just WinDVD. PowerDVD has been known to have better picture quality while WinDVD had better sound. More recent versions may have changed things. DVDGenie is a powerful tool for these players and is free. If your looking for a free copy, use a search engine.

I am using the included DVD player with the ATI Radeon 64MB DDR. When playing DVD movies, however, no sound is heard from the center channel and the playback is slightly choppy (even though its a 1GHz with 256MB RAM). The SB Live! Platinum 5.1 test reports all speakers hooked up and working properly and the Dolby Digital decode box is checked. Any ideas? Perhaps another DVD player would solve the problem.
