DVD is getting static!

My Blade dvd is getting a bit of static! Is that acually possible?! Since they cost only a few cents to make is there a way to send this crappy one and get a new one? The distributing companies keep saying how it's not the cost of making the product, it's to buy the rights, which we obviously have done if we send them the original dvd for replacement.

Uhhh... ... Can you describe this "static"? By their very nature (digital *ahem*), DVD images cannot have 'static' in them...

they are sharp discolored lines. grrrr. RUFFF! i'm being a dog,
