After formatting and reinstalling Power DVD (2.5), I expierence random crashes and the program will crash when the dvd is about half way through. I have tried a few different discs and still expierence the same problems. I tried reinstalling power dvd, using another program called free dvd (power dvd is the only commercial program I have), but the problem remains.

Any ideas? Thanks

Win 2k (not sp2 yet)
directx 8.0
asus a7m266

Any Help apreciated, thanks =]

btw- the dvd player is a pioneer 16x slot load, anyone know where to get new drivers for it?

Typically, drivers for optical drives are automatically loaded by Windows. I don't know of any optical drives that actually require a specific driver. You might be able to flash the firmware to a newer version if there is one out, but I have a Toshiba DVD drive so I don't really know that much about the Pioneers. I have a system similar to yours and I'm using Powe DVD 2.5 as well without any problems. When the program crashes on you, does it give you an error message? And if so, what does it say?
