I just bought THIS to convert my VHS tapes to DVD, because I don't have a video card that has any input ports. I'm amazed at how easy it is to use. I give it :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:. I highly recommend it.
It takes as long as the video is just to copy it (1hour video=1hour copy), then even longer to burn it to a DVD (1hour video=1.5hours+ coding and burn time), total time was around 2.5-3 hours using a 4X DVD burner. As far as the burning part, it might not take that long to burn if I use different software. I'm using Sonic My DVD to burn them to the DVD+r so I can create menus, btw this doesn't come bundled with it. You may have faster results with the bundled software. I looked in to the software that came with it but I couldn't figure out how to create menus with it. I?ve only used it once so far and I plan on using it again in the morning. So far it has made a really good first impression. The quality of the video (this can be set at different levels 9MB/sec, 6MB/sec, 4MB/sec the higher the number the bigger the copy better the quality will be) is the same if not better than the VCR output when I play the DVD in a DVD console unit and I copied the movie at 6MB/sec.
BTW, this is not just for DVD's, you can also create VCD's with it also, it will just take more discs per video.
