DVD Duplicator Question

Hopefully this is in the right place. Here is my situation...I am a HS Football coach and we are moving from VHS storage of film to DVDs. We are looking into ways to make multiple copies of DVDs in a time efficient manner. It seems purchasing a DVD duplicator is in the cards. However I have a few questions on how they work.

1) Can you burn multiple copies directly from a computer or do you have to make a master disk and then burn it from there?

2) Can you hook a VCR to it and then burn multiple DVDs directly from that source. (Like a multiple DVD Recorder I suppose)

I guess that is it for now. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.

usually, a DVD duplicator has a hard drive and you burn an image that is stored there. therefore, you'd first have to convert the video into a dvd image, then you can create as many copies as you want.
