DVD drive

Ok new system (the one in my sig). Windows went in fine. Installed in order windows critical updates, nvida chipset drivers, A64 drivers, video drivers, sound drivers, and then some items off the msi disk. After I used the DVD drive to install the MSI utilities it stoped working, I removeed the windows IDE drivers and used the Nvida one still nothing. Then I removed everything from the MSI cd still nothing. The drive is seen in BIOS and windows. In device drivers it is listed as working. Once I put media in it it spins up light blinks I hear the laser tryin to work but after a few seconds it stops and nothing happens. So I removed it and droped in a cd reader it works fine. Anyone got some ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the drive. Try booting from a floppy or a Windows CD or Knoppix or something and see if you can read media with the drive.

I had one act like that and it turns out I had the jumper set to Master when the box was using Cable Select.
