DVD drive won't boot from my WinXP disc when installing windows.

It's an Afreey 40x10, and other than not reading my windows xp disk when I am trying to install xp, it works fine. Is it on it's way out. My cdrw drive reads the disk just fine and installs without a problem. Any ideas or comments?

Yeah. Your DVD drive isn't the master drive on the chain. On older systems they will only boot off of the master drive, not the slave. In your case it will only boot off the cd burner, not the dvd drive.
