I am on a budget making a computer do you think I should get a cheap DVD or a CD-rom. I plan to spend about $75 If DVD can you recommend models or features I should look for.

thanks

You should be able to get a cheap 8x dvd for that price if you plan on actually watching dvds on your computer

ya if you want see DVD movies than you should get one. It reads everything.

CD-Rom are so cheap now that i can't sell my old ones. 🙂

It's like "Hey $5 for one"

fry's was selling a cendyne/hitache 12x dvd drive for $100, and they were selling a cendyne/realmagic decoder for $60.

now... CompUSA was selling the same drive for $120 and the decoder for $100...

here's where it gets interesting... CompUSA had a rebate if you purchased the drive and card... $30 right away and $50 mail in...

CompUSA also price matches... so tell them how much you can get these items for... they will knock the price down to Fry's price... then you can apply the rebate to the reduced cost...

you come out with a cdrom drive and decoder card for $80.

not too shabby a deal...

Here's another one... go to PC Club if you have one in the area... and look for a clearance section... they have these items that you make offers on... I picked up a brand-new 48x Lite-On cdrom drive for $25.
