DVD Drive Issue

So my DVD/CD drive is not being read by the PC. I go into Computer and it does not show a CD/DVD drive. I reformatted and everything was back to normal. But after I updated to Vista x64 Service Pack 2, my drives do not show up anymore.

Any suggestions?

Problems with "missing" CD/DVD drives are often related to software or drivers that are used to copy or emulate CD/DVD drives.

I'd:
0) Verify that data and power cables to the drive are connected and tight
1) Uninstall any third-party software that is used to copy or emulate CD/DVD drives
D/DVD.
2) Follow this MS article:
