DVD Drive Error Question, Please Help

I have two PC's on my home network and I recently re-installed XP on both of them. I wanted to play a instructional DVD and both PC's tell me "Windows Media player can not play this DVD because a compatible DVD decoder is not installed on your computer". I don't get it as there is a CD/DVD drive installed on both of them. Anyone have any idea what I'm dealing with here? Thank you for any help you can provide.

Sincerely,
Hans Groenewold

you more than likely already have software you just need to install it, I get DVD software with DVD drives, video cards, and sometimes motherboards. Once you install DVD software media player should work too

I have the DVD software but I changed motherboards and the software only supports Asus based chipsets and I have an Asrock motherboard now.

Thanks,
Hans
