is there a dvddecrypter like program that as a preview? I love the scene extracting option, but a lot of the times I have to load up the movie to track down which title/scene I wanna pull.

Here is a collection of web forums that specifically deal with DVD backup. I believe that the author of DVD Decrypter "Lighting UK" was pressured by Macrovision to sell "DVD Decrypter" to them so they could lawfully force distributors of the software to stop distributing it. I believe Lighting UK now focuses his development on the Burning software of DVD Decrypter called ImgBurn.

DVD Decrypter (if you can find a copy) can in fact backup sony protected DVDs and this last link is a thread specifically about how.

Somewhere in the digital-digest forums there's a thread that people have posted the necessary files to backup known sony protected titles.

One final note, if a disc fails to backup it could be that the DVD bonding is bad. I persoanlly experienced this with a movie I own and after purchasing a second copy it copied fine.

unless I'm super stupid, DVD Shrink doesn't let you extract chapters. It works great for ripping though
