does anyone know which dvd decoder works better in win2000? the creative dxr3 or the hollywood plus? do they output divx or other video files to tv? or does it only work with dvds? is the creative encore 12x w/ dxr3 any good? or is it better to get the hollywood plus w/ a dvd-rom? i'm looking for something that plays both dvd movies and avi divx files on tv from my computer. please someone tell me what is a good way to do it. i have a 433 celeron runing win2000 w/ vipper 770 ultra tnt2 card.

thanks a lot

Well I watch DVD on the ATI player, so I can't help you with the cards you mention, but to play Divx files, just download the Divx codec and you can watch it with the video player of your choice, windows media player for example, with the Radeon the TV-out shows your desktop, so whatever you see on your desktop(at 800 x 600) you see on your TV. Works good, Looks good!

Yeah, DxR3 is the same as Hollywood+... so save yourself some $$ and get the Hollywood instead...

I have Hollywood running under win2k, using sigma's win2k drivers from their website and have absolutely no problems whatsoever...

ONLY WITH DVD's!!!

Your best bet would be to get an external scan converter (connects between your computer and TV to display your VGA output on the TV). Look at the Averkey imicro (less than $100) or hunt around for a used one.
