DVD Decoder Problem

I've got a Cinemaster C WDM DVD decoder card from a Dell system made about 2 years ago. I've put it in a new K7T Pro2A based system. The problem is that when a movie is played, the video comes out crystal-clear. But I get absolutely no sound. I've got the audio-out on the decoder card going into the AUX input on my Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1, and I've got that input enabled and at full volume with the sound card software, yet there's nothing. Dead silence. All other system sounds are still present. I've tried several audio cables between the cards, so it must be another issue. I've got the newest drivers. I've tried everything I can think of. I know this card was never released in the US except for in Dell systems, so I guess I'm hoping for a more general suggestion. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
 
system sounds don't come from the cd-rom so i'm guessing that you've got it wired wrong. try this: cd-rom audio cable into the IN slot on the decoder, and then another cable going from the decoder to the CD IN on the sound card.

edit: just checked the ol'instructions on the dxr3 board that i previously used. connect the audio cable from the dvd-rom to the cd-in1 (or its equivalent) on the decoder board. use another cable to run from the line out (or its equivalent) on the decoder board to the cd-in connector on the sound card. i had the right idea before, but now i've got the right names.🙂
