DVD Decoder Issues??

Hi all,
I'm running an HP 762n with a few upgrades, most important of them, a DVD burner (Sony 710A).

I'm attempting to watch DVDs on my computer, and in either the burner, or the DVD drive that came with the unit (bios says HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8160B) all I get on my movies is sound, no picture.

It's rather aggravating, is my decoder going? or is it a software issue tha can be fixed? Help!!

What version of windows are you running?
What DVD software are you using?
Have you tried more than one DVD?

My bad on the specs...

running windows XP SP2, tried using InterActual, but get a DVD Decoding error, when using Intervideo WinDVD i get the sound but no picture deal.

Used multiple DVDs, some don't work at all, others give sound / no picture

This is the error I get from InterActual:

Error PL4009: A CSS Encryption error occurred while trying to play the DVD. Your detected decoder may not support playback of encrypted DVD content. Please make sure that your decoder fully supports playback of encrypted DVD content by contacting the manufacturer of your DVD playback software

Interactual and WinDVD might have a conflict. Maybe you would like to try this: Uninstall Interactual and WinDVD. Then reinstall WinDVD. Play the movie without installing Interactual.
