I was thinking of buying a dvd player for my room when i was like i should just build i dvd monster machine to play my dvd's with . What are the pro and cons of doing that .. i mean will the picture be worse or better . and what components should i use ? also how much should expect to spend ? well please leave message in the theard , private message or email me

well if you got a nice TV then a nice dvd player with a good decoder and speakers with subwoofer will be nice.

However if you get a computer with a ATI Radeon with TV OUT and SB Live Platinum and DTT 2500 speakers you can sort of get same thing plus playing games at 1024.768 on the TV.

One of the most amazing pictures you can get is playing a dvd on your comp. on anything smaller than a 19 inch monitor it tends to be unwatchable, but it will be simply the clearest most amazing video you will see.

ya i know i like to watch it on my moniter but its not comfortable , where i have my computer at to watch moives ... so i was going t build a computer .. what kind of cpu . mbo . and how much mem shoul di ge t?

Yeah, I would second the Radeon, but instead I would say the SbLive! Platinum and the Videologic DigiTheatre

I'm not sure what needs this computer will have...
Speed is not all that important if you have a add on hardware decoder card. You could cheaply throw together a second machine and spend the money you save to buy a large monitor. The card i use, a hollywood plus, allows for dts and dolby digital so it would sound pretty good hooked up to a home stereo.
